Basics Classes - are for everyone but especially beginners. The goal of these classes is to supplement the training from the chief instructor's classes.
Mixed Classes - are for everyone but the general pace of the class is a little more intense. Beginner's are strongly encouraged to come to these classes. In spite of their intensity, beginners will find senior students to be helpful and encouraging during training.
Advanced Classes - to attend these classes requires instructor's permission. In general, you will be able to participate in these classes in three to four months. While this is not an advanced level, it is enough to be able to practice safely in the class.
Weapons Classes - requires permission of Chief Instructor and involves the study of the Jo (short staff) and Bokken.
Iaido Classes - requires permission of Chief Instructor involves the study of drawing the sword, cutting and re-sheathing the sword. Iaido is, generally, an individualized form of practice. The reason to study Iaido is to get to the basic roots of Aikido through the study of the use of the sword. Like all training in the dojo, the study of Iaido requires commitment from the student and requires the purchase of an iaito (an unsharpened sword).
